We started this business as a group of veterans who wanted to support our brothers in arms, and provide a fun field setting where your individual actions and choices directly impact and provide your sustenance. We wanted to show other veterans the sense of pride and fulfillment that comes with the adventure of backcountry hunting and fishing.

We now offer these adventures to everyone, and are proud to introduce first time hunters and take also those with more experience as well.

Winter Recreational Adventures $350-$650

Every weekend during the the winter we will be doing a 3 day adventure (Friday evening arrival, sunday evening depature). On these enjoyment focused guided hunts, we can teach the fundamental aspects in planning and executing a winter trip, so you can do it on your next time. Ice fishing, predator hunting (wolf, coyote, cougar) as well as survival skills and bushcraft are all on the menu. While these adventures will be essentially broken up versions of our 7 and 14 day courses, each outing is tailored specifically to clients in each group. Not too interested in wolf hunting, but chasing perch through the ice is your speed? We will spend the whole adventure punching holes, or vice versa. There also isn’t any need to book multiple weekends, you are more then welcome out for a single adventure. These weekend adventures are designed to be fun and accessible.

We can operate these adventures within a 1.5 hour drive of Edmonton or Calgary

“Off-Season” Hunting Courses $350-$1250

These courses are operated in the summer, spring and winter months, during our off season. Typically great weather, and long summer days allow us to spend a great deal of time teaching course material. Without needing to make compromises on the game’s schedule, and by removing the pressure put meat on the ground, we have found it be the most effective environment for learning. Winter and spring course dates will teach you how to get the most out of the long cold months. We will also actively hunt wolves, coyotes as well as learn how to put fish on the ice. These courses are designed for entry level, value orientated hunters that are looking to accelerate their success and enjoyment in backcountry hunting situations. Meals provided are simple, but effective. Accommodations provided are simple, but effective. This course material can be broken up over a few weekends to distribute the cost, and allow for time for knowledge to “sink in”. Alternatively we can run 4 day, or week long adventures in more remote areas for those wanting to dive in deeper.

We operate these hunts 2-3 hours from Edmonton or Calgary

These week long educationally focused adventures are for hunters with at least a few seasons of experience, who are looking for a stepping stone to establish skillsets to chase Elk, Mule Deer and Bighorn Sheep in remote backcountry areas. Mornings and evenings will be spent hunting, afternoons will have you learning and practicing essential fieldcraft skills, and nights will be spent around a fire or wood stove discussing tactics, strategy, techniques, ethics and best practices.

These hunts are operated 3-4 hours from Edmonton or Calgary.

What can you learn?

  • Marksmanship: Our guides and instructors are all ex-military and have spent time employed in sniper cells, or marksmanship detachments. We will give you instruction and coaching, building your confidence with your weapon as far as practical.

  • Glassing: Equal parts art and science, with a little magic. You can’t kill what you can’t find.

  • Navigation: The technology in your phone and gps is exponentially more powerful if you know how to use it. There is also more to Nav than following that line on a screen, and a lot more to making sure you can get around when that screen fails. You can’t kill what you can’t get close to.

  • Water Treatment: There are a lot of different ways to make water potable… What do you use and when? What are the differences?

  • Meal Prepping: Commercially available back country meals are delicious and easy, but expensive. Learn how to build delicious and inexpensive meal packages for all kinds of hunts, using the meat and other ingredients you procure yourself.

  • Gear: Packs, shelters, and all the accessories. We will have a wide selection of gear available for you to get your hands on and try first hand so you can see what your dollars buy you. You will also see how each of these items fall into a larger system. Simply learning the strengths and weaknesses of fabrics, and how to employ them can keep you out longer and be more rested.

  • Field Dressing: How to break down that deer or elk into the most efficient package to take out, and a ton of information on taking care of your meat in the field.

  • Power Equipment: We’ve all lost the better part of a hunt getting the truck unstuck. What you need in the vehicle, and how to use it. Automotive recovery, chainsaw familiarization, ATVs.
